Ken's Greatest Hits
2007-03-23 01:41
by Ken Arneson

My motivation in starting this list was to have some kind of sampling on the sidebar. My motivation in finishing it is having Catfish Stew mentioned in this week's Sports Illustrated. So if you're coming here from there, read a sampling below, and then vote for us.

Note: This is just a list my own writing that I'm happy with. Philip and Ryan can make their own doggone lists. Call me selfish if you like. ;P The list is below the fold...

The Zito triptych was great. That changed a lot of what I perceived about the guy. Put that in, definitely.

My favorite is "Ah, that Day". It had never occurred to me before I read that one that a baseball blog could actually be scary.

Personally, my favourite was The Evil Blogger What Blogs at Midnight. That was when I realized that it could be fun to read blogs about teams that I don't normally follow.

The bit about Rickey Henderson as a Surf Dawg was great, too.

Perfect. But may I be permitted to opine, you should have included the Return of Scott Brosius and other unsolved mysteries to your Best Of list.

MLB Heavyweight Champion

If MLB champs were decided like boxing: beat the champ, and you're the champ.

The 2008 season started with the Red Sox as champs. They were beaten by the A's, who were beaten back by Boston, who were then swept by Toronto, who lost to Oakland, who lost to Cleveland, and so on, until we reached our current champion.

The Heavyweight of the Year is the team that wins the most title bouts at the end of the season.

Current Champion (as of 5/17):
Cincinnati Reds
