Game 7 Chat: Taxonomy
2008-04-06 12:31
In the spirit of looking away, I'm doing my taxes this afternoon. It irks me that I have to spend a full day of my life each year filling out all these forms, even though my taxes are pretty much the same every year. I'd gladly pay more taxes in exchange for all those days back. This is the computer age, doggone it. All that data should go electronically to the IRS, and it should fill out the forms for you, and all you should have to do is check a box and say, "yeah, that's right." 10 seconds of your life every year, and that's it. How much of our nation's productivity is lost to this manual process that needn't be manual? Meanwhile, Joe Blanton gets his third start of the season, facing Cliff Lee.

MLB Heavyweight Champion
If MLB champs were decided like boxing: beat the champ, and you're the champ.
The 2008 season started with the Red Sox as champs. They were beaten by the A's, who were beaten back by Boston, who were then swept by Toronto, who lost to Oakland, who lost to Cleveland, and so on, until we reached our current champion. The Heavyweight of the Year is the team that wins the most title bouts at the end of the season.

Another well-pitched game by Blanton, and another loss.
My tee-ball team outhit the A's today. Though in Oakland's defense, nobody is called out in the tee-ball game.
