Another Streak Will End Tonight
2008-04-28 18:50
by Ken Arneson

The A's and Angels have the exact same record, 16-10, tied for the best in the American League.  Moreover, they have done the exact same thing for seven straight days:

Mon 4/21:  day off
Tue 4/22:  loss
Wed 4/23: win
Thu 4/24: win
Fri 4/25: win
Sat 4/26: loss
Sun 4/27: win

That's about to end shortly, unless something like this happens.

Oakland @ Angels, 7:05pm, Chad Gaudin vs. Jon Garland.

Every time one of those Nation's commercials comes on, I expect to hear the dulcet tones of Ken Macha extolling the virtues of their tasty burgers.

It's not a Lew Wolff visit to the booth until he starts complaining about the audacity of people expecting him to comply with regulations and ordinances.

"We still haven't been attracting the fans the way we like. I'm not sure what the reason is." -- Lew Wolff, 8:29 p.m.

Oh, Lew, I could provide you an alphabetized list.

When Frank Thomas is hitting triples and Jack Cust is legging out infield hits, it is not your night, Los Angeles of Anaheim.

stand down...

hahahahahahah!

hey Ken, off topic, I'm sure you've heard (or maybe not) Zito has been moved to the Giant's pen. Any theories as to what has happened to Zito?

Do you think it is something structural, he's supposedly only hitting 83mph on his fastball. That's got to be about 5 miles less than last year.

btw E Brown is an RBI maching, RBI machine I tell you!

10 What is it about that stadium? The Halos get more dinks and dunks than any team in the history of baseball.

Turnabout is awesome!

Rajai Davis is officially batting as "no position." He'll be Position #12 in BPro's stats.

MLB Heavyweight Champion

If MLB champs were decided like boxing: beat the champ, and you're the champ.

The 2008 season started with the Red Sox as champs. They were beaten by the A's, who were beaten back by Boston, who were then swept by Toronto, who lost to Oakland, who lost to Cleveland, and so on, until we reached our current champion.

The Heavyweight of the Year is the team that wins the most title bouts at the end of the season.
