MLB Heavyweight Champion

If MLB champs were decided like boxing: beat the champ, and you're the champ.

The 2008 season started with the Red Sox as champs. They were beaten by the A's, who were beaten back by Boston, who were then swept by Toronto, who lost to Oakland, who lost to Cleveland, and so on, until we reached our current champion.

The Heavyweight of the Year is the team that wins the most title bouts at the end of the season.

Rich Harden, you are light and combustible; if you were a gas, you would be pure hydrogen.

2 IP, 5 strikeouts. I am filled with anticipation, and it is delicious.

I am as happy as a little girl!

are little girls intrinsically happy by default?

Genius! By seemingly embracing the cliches of the vest, he is underscoring its excruciating banality. Your agony is gorgeous.

I was listening to the game on my XM as I drove south towards Arizona today. The Padres broadcast team called Harden's stuff "outrageous", and seemed to be baffled by how he was blowing them away.

I look forward, with great anticipation, to seeing him pitch in the next two weeks.

FYI, I'll have pictures and tales from Phoenix beginning after the game on Tuesday.

I wouldn't be too happy. Brandon McCarthy pitched today for the Rangers, his line was 2ip, 4Ks, 1H, 1BB, Zero Runs. This was against the Royals, but I still think he could be an Ervin Santana this year.
