Apparently, Cisco Field won't have any bullpens.

Is there so little sun in Oakland that they can get away with that design? Dodger fans would have numerous sun induced heat spells if that had been the model for Chavez Ravine.

Looks like the return of Billy Ball!

Maybe they'll be on the playing field, like the Polo Grounds?

Are they really planning to put of swimming pool up there in the RF upper deck? Maybe they can put the bullpens there, sna bring the pitchers into games via water slide.

I'm digging the extreme variation in the warning track depth.

and the water slide could have "logs" shaped like those ol' bullpen cars from the 60s ...

The bullpens will be in the surrounding condos. Lew Wolff plans to charge relievers rent.

Are the demensions on the out field walls accurate? 310 down the line and 320 to the left field power alley?

It's pretty sweet having the rooftop seating across the street a-la Wrigley. Wonder what those will run?

I figured the bullpens were the open spaces in centerfield.

Just beyond centerfield.

I like the art, but that little blue swirly thing near the bottom makes me wonder what Pedro Bell would do if he designed this park. If nothing else, everyone would be in an interesting mood...

Wha? Dan Johnson on the video board?

9 It doesn't seem like those dimensions could be correct. The way it's drawn, I don't know how you get from 320 in that spot it's written and then to 410 out in center. Not to mention how it could only get 17 ft deeper with the fence heading out and the steep jutting out that takes place right before 320.

So left field gets 1 legit tier of bleachers plus a sort of field-level bleacher and a rather tall-looking pyramidal extension, while right field gets stuck above a suspiciously familiar-looking out of town scoreboard (with room for only 8 games I might add) and a weird diamond-level-esque subterranean cubbyhole.

I am glad I have no fear of this ever actually coming to pass.

Also I think those encroaching, ominously gray buildings in the background would like to devour the ballpark.

Hitters will appreciate the bleachers full of fans in dead center field. Nice batter's eye.

11 I don't think there are open spaces out there. I thought so at first, but when you look closer, they're inexplicably brown walls.

16 You have to concede, though, that nothing captures the majesty and worldliness of Fremont quite like featureless, gray buildings.

Did Comcast and Ford pay for the right to be in the painting?

C'mon. You know how hard it is to do one of these drawings? There are just way too many things to include. FOUR bases. Not just pieces of wood stuck in the ground like cricket. And all of those splotchy "people" in the stands. I barely had enough time to google the a's logo. And after all that, I had to remove the transamerica building from the background (ok, cisco field, San Francisco, right? Wrong. Apparently it's named after some butter alternative), and you people are complaining about bullpens? Really.

MLB Heavyweight Champion

If MLB champs were decided like boxing: beat the champ, and you're the champ.

The 2008 season started with the Red Sox as champs. They were beaten by the A's, who were beaten back by Boston, who were then swept by Toronto, who lost to Oakland, who lost to Cleveland, and so on, until we reached our current champion.

The Heavyweight of the Year is the team that wins the most title bouts at the end of the season.

Current Champion (as of 5/17):
