If I had told you in March that the A's would be in first place near the end of April, who would you have thought would be the player most responsible for the hot start? I bet you wouldn't have said "Santiago Casilla." Casilla is currently leading the A's in Win Probability Added.

To be honest, this is the first time I've seen the name "Santiago Castilla." Or at least, I didn't recognize it.

Four relief pitchers rated above the best A's hitter says all anyone needs to know about this team. The A's are like the anti-Tigers.

Plus, while Casilla's run is probably unsustainable (he'll give up a run at some point, right?), you have to figure Alan Embree and Huston Street will come around.
