I believe Jack Cust should be kept away from baseball positions that require him to use a glove.

Positions that require him to swing a bat aren't all that ideal for him either, at least until he learns how to hit a breaking ball.

Top of the Fifth J. Cust homered to deep right center

Good ol' Jack Cust.

That's insight you can't get anywhere else, folks...

The return of Chris Bootcheck. This may not end well.

Or it may not end.

I friggin' love this team. A lineup that the average fan would glance at and think they suck, when the truth is each guy takes good at-bats nearly every time up. They can really bludgeon teams to death with all these walks and baserunners. (And unlike the last couple of years, they're bringing those runners in)

Another lengthy inning, and Bootcheck's ERA can apply for an AARP card.

Also, for those of you not watching the Bay Area telecast, the A's are doing a promotion where they take $1 off the Plaza Level seats for Sunday's A's-Rangers game for each hit the Athletics get tonight.

At this rate, tickets will come with a rebate to rival the federal government's.

Highest scoring Angels-Athletics game took place in Kansas City back on 9/5/1961 in the second game of a doublheader.

KC won 13-12.

The B-R boxscore seems off as there are too many putouts and assists for the leadoff hitters on each team.

Here's Retrosheet's boxscore of the game.

Retrosheet doesn't have the play-by-play for this game, but B-R does.
